This entry is long overdue. You keep asking ......
So here goes:
Why I choose not to see or mention the Crime in South Africa?
Simply because I don't do heartbreak, depressing and negative...
I try to live my life positive and happy ....
But there are serious problems in South Africa...
this I can assure you...
My love for my country is far greater than the negative stuff going on here.
This is not Neverland I can promise you.
Corruption is a new fashion statement. If you don't do corruption you are so "last year"
Your life is worthless. They'll kill you for a cellphone or just because they can!!!
Don't be afraid of the wild life and lions, but be very aware of the "tjotsies"
What is a "tjotsie"? Someone, who doesn't respect life, with no moral values.
The crime and me?
My niece was raped...
Corruption cost us a half million rand (7 months turn over, plus minus 50 000 dollars)!!
and there are lots more which I'm not going to mention.....
I am one of the statistics of the crime in South Africa...

This is the view from the street. Unfortunately, with our shocking crime rate, we have to do what we can, to protect ourselves and you will find us covering behind our walls (note the razor wire on top) and gates. The house is also equipped with panic buttons, motion detectors, cameras, lasers and an alarm system linked to the armed response company.
"South Africans are increasingly fearful of being a victim of crime
This rising fear of crime is fully justified when it is seen against the backdrop of significant increases in home and business robberies and carjackings, as revealed in the latest crime statistics. Not only are these crimes on the rise, they are also becoming increasingly and senselessly violent. All too often it seems that defenceless women, children and the elderly are beaten and shot while their homes are plundered with impunity.
In order to regain control of our streets and communities, the government needs to ensure that it puts in place a SAPS leadership that commands respect and dignity – not ridicule and shame. We must have a police service that is fit, well-trained, disciplined and fully equipped to do its job – not one which is demoralised, overweight, badly trained and poorly supervised. We must have a SAPS leader strong enough to undo the policy failures that began under Selebi’s command – particularly the disbanding of the specialised units.
South Africans deserve to live lives free of fear. The time has come to take a stand and refuse to accept anything less from government."
The whole of South Africa has become a war zone. This video is a good compliation of the Truth in South Africa. I am still amazed that the rest of the world has'nt a clue what is happening. (Dankie Boendoe, hierdie video het my laat besluit om uiteindelik hierdie inskrywing te maak)
"In this time of economic crisis, mankind as a whole is at an all-time low. Doom and gloom are the order of the day and we as South Africans are not only faced with an economic recession, but also a political crisis.
South Africans are bombarded with negative news on politics, corruption, crime and the overall problems facing South Africa. From the newspaper to the headlines on the TV news, all we hear are the negatives. The effects? An overall low and negative view of our home. People doubt their future, their home and their life. Hundreds are so bombarded and overwhelmed with the negatives that they would sooner move to a desert across the world, otherwise known as Australia, than live in South Africa."

My love for my beautiful country?
Wide open spaces...
The smell...
The sunshine, the diverse cultures..
Here in South Africa we smile a lot and laugh a lot. Nothing really gets us down.
Even the corruption and taxi strikes......... are OK and brings out the humour in South africans.....
We are a friendly bunch...
Nights in South Africa are magical ..... this now the moon and stars ... *wink*
I love her for the perfection of her days
The crisp Karoo morning
The Joburg winter noon
The late summer Cape Town sunset
The star-filled Free State night
I love her for her people
For our warm smiles
For our resilience
For our I-am-because-we-are
I love her because she delights my senses
Highveld thunderbolts
Jacarandas in bloom
Sunday braais
African sun
Icy sea
I love her raw power, her intensity, her strength
I love her because of how she makes me feel
Sometimes angry, sometimes joyous
Sometimes fearful, sometimes love-filled
Sometimes frustrated, sometimes hopeful
Always alive
I love her because she intrigues me
And challenges me
The Chinese have a curse: "May you live in interesting times"
I see it as a blessing
I love her because she helps me keep things in perspective
By reminding me how privileged I am
Every day
I love her for being a microcosm of the world
A world in one country
For what we can teach the world
About compromise
And sharing
And forgiveness
And tolerance
And hope
I love her because she's imperfect
And full of opportunity
And potential unfulfilled
I love her because she has come so far
And has so much further to go
And whether we ever get there
Will all depend on us
I love her because she's been so good to me
And she inspires me to return the favour
I love her because she's my country
No matter what
I love her because she's my home
And where my soul is at rest
By Ian Macdonald
That’s what I love about our country, and our people. We have patience, and determination. And one day, one day soon, all our hopes and dreams will be realised.
If we just work together.
